Welcome to Minikota Swedish Vallhunds

We are an AKC Swedish Vallhund Breeder Of Merit located in southwestern Minnesota. Our dogs are part of our family, living in our home (not in a kennel). We have been active in showing and titling them in conformation, training for basic obedience, exposing them to various livestock, and doing "unofficial" therapy dog work since early 2004. When we aren't working, we enjoy hanging out together, and camping when the weather permits. We are lucky to be owned by such a great group of dogs!

Planning for puppies spring/summer 2024.

Our puppies are raised in our home as part of our family. They are started on crate training, housebreaking, and leash training before going to their new homes. We temperament test the puppies at 7 weeks and match each one with the most appropriate family. Puppies are started on their vaccinations, are vet checked, and microchipped before leaving here, which is not before 10 weeks of age.

We strive for health and temperament, and overall quality. Our adult dogs have had hips evaluated by PennHIP and OFA and eyes checked by an ACVO ophthalmologist. All prospective owners will be screened. Our pups will be guaranteed for health and temperament and placed with a contract. Puppies will be placed with AKC limited registration and a spay/neuter agreement. We do not ship our puppies via cargo. New owners will either need to drive or fly here to pick up their new puppy.
